How to Get Involved
Every year, Home & School (H&S) organizes a variety of events to build community and foster an inclusive and welcoming environment. In addition to events for families, H&S also organizes faculty and staff appreciation events.
We rely on the participation of families to make all of these events successful. Those who take advantage of the many ways to get involved, tell us that their experience at AFS is greatly enriched and many attribute strong friendships with other families to participating in H&S activities.

Email is the primary method of communication for H&S. Keep abreast of what is going on at school so your family can fully participate in all that AFS has to offer. Opportunities to sign up to volunteer are included in event emails sent by Home & School.

Your Grade Level Clerks are available to answer questions or point you in the direction of any information you need. By reaching out when you have questions, H&S can help you engage fully in AFS campus life.

We hope you will attend AFS athletic events, concerts, robotics competitions, theatrical productions and other public displays of student talent. You can purchase Spirit Wear at periodic school events and at our online store. Be on the lookout for emails regarding spirit days and calls for our cheering section, the Roo Mob. (Did you know that a group of kangaroos is called a mob?)
Click here to visit the online store or email Sloane Waldman at email@example.com for information about our stock of Spirit Wear available on campus for purchase.
AFS Connects is our strategic outreach program to harness the power of our current parents and guardians in sharing their AFS experiences. AFS Connects has four committees: Admission Connectors, Neighborhood & Workplace Connectors, New Family Connectors, and Spirit & Social Connectors.
