Middle School Cross-Country

About the Program: AFS Middle School Cross-Country serves as the entry point for students in 5th through 8th grades to join the AFS running program. Open to interested runners of all experience levels and abilities, AFS MS Cross-Country looks to teach participants the fundamentals of the sport of running in a fun and supportive environment where the growth and development of every runner are the primary goals. The team competes in approximately 5 dual meets against other middle school programs where all team members race over a 2-mile course of varied natural terrain. One of the season highlights is chance to participate in a 300+ runner invitational at the famed Belmont Plateau course in Fairmount Park every October. Middle School Cross-Country meets 4 times each week from 3:10-4:30pm from mid-September through the end of October.
