Middle School Fall A & B Tennis

About the Program: AFS offers two seasons of tennis each academic year – in the fall and the spring. Historically at AFS and amongst our peer schools, the fall season has been for those players who identify as female and the spring season for those who identify as male. Gender diverse and non-binary individuals will be eligible to play in matches during the season in which they feel most comfortable doing so. Middle School Fall Tennis  is open to any interested student in 5th through 8th grades. AFS typically offers one fall tennis team in the middle school, but if roster size warrants it, the team may be separated on certain match days into an A level for older and more experienced players and a B level for younger and less experienced players. AFS Middle School Fall Tennis plays approximately 8 matches per season against other middle school teams that are often comprised of 6th-8th graders though participation on AFS’s team is not limited to students in those grades. Through focusing on individual skills development as well as by introducing fundamental match play concepts, AFS MS Fall Tennis aims to prepare players for eventual future participation on the AFS Varsity & JV Fall Tennis teams. Middle School Fall Tennis meets 4 times each week from 3:10-4:15pm from mid-September through the end of October. More information about AFS Middle School Tennis is available in this set of FAQ.
