This Week in Athletics | Friday, March 6
Jeff Bond, AFS Athletics

At the conclusion of their winter seasons, coaches from Friends Schools League teams held Meetings for Business to arrive at a sense of unity on the athletes in their sport whom they deemed worthy of All-Friends Schools League postseason honors. Those selected by the League’s coaches are lifted up for their, as the FSL Constitution states, “excellence in athletics and sportsmanship.”

Nine AFS athletes from three winter sports were named to the All-Friends Schools League teams for their performance during the season. Congratulations to Jalyn Hopkins ‘27 (basketball), Myles Griffin ‘26 (wrestling), Maxwell Berthier ‘27 (wrestling), Khalil Jimenez ‘27 (wrestling), Cole Rodgers ‘28 (wrestling) and Sam Calandra-Jayne ‘26 (wrestling) for earning All-FSL First Team honors. In addition, Lilly Davatzes ‘27 (swimming), Rob Spruill (basketball) and Matteo Abu El-Haj ‘30 (wrestling) garnered FSL Honorable Mention recognition. Congrats, Roos!

Schedules can now be located online HERE for almost all AFS Athletics spring teams. Check back frequently as they will be updated with any additions or changes. Middle School Spring Athletics starts after school on Wednesday, March 11.
