David Dai ’20 pitches his screenplay to the class.

In an Upper School English class, students have been studying dramatic writing techniques and adapting them for the particular demands of film writing.

In the Writing for Stage and Screen class, taught by Megan Bellwoar Hollinger, students presented treatments of their screenplays to their class over Zoom with examples of scenes and how they have envisioned the details of the film including casting, production design and shooting locations. Each member of the class has a (very imaginary) budget of $10 million, which they can choose to invest in three films of their choice once all pitches have been made.
