
Amanda Milz
Biography
Amanda has been a part of the AFS community since 2013. Formerly, she taught in the Lower Merion School District and at William Penn Charter School.
Amanda’s favorite part about working in the AFS community: “The people! I love the small class sizes and having the opportunity to teach students and watch them grow from age three to fourth grade. I also love the amazing community of educators that I get to collaborate with and the freedom and flexibility to innovate and be adventurous in my curriculum.”
What Amanda finds meaningful in her profession: “I absolutely love getting to create alongside my students and learn from them. No two days ever feel the same, from dreaming up sets for the music program to taking kids outside to paint plein air, I get to be creative every day. “
Fun fact about Amanda: “I mostly grew up in London and went to the American School in London for middle and high school.”
Amanda’s favorite spot on campus: “The Headwaters Discovery Playground. I get a front row seat to the playground as it’s right outside my classroom, and I love overhearing the squeals of delight of children playing and watching how dynamic the space is as it changes through the seasons.”
