Student Life
Our international students participate fully in the academic, athletic, social, and spiritual life of the school.
The International Student Program at Abington Friends School offers students a chance to explore their individual interests, experience American life, and develop a deeper understanding of the cultural complexities of studying in a diverse educational setting.
Rigorous Curriculum
Immerse yourself in the AFS Academic Program
All international students are enrolled in the school’s rigorous curriculum along with our non-international students and are expected to build their English language competency by immersing themselves in our academic program.
Our international students are also encouraged to participate in student clubs, athletics, the arts, and other experiential learning opportunities. International students, like all students at AFS, are encouraged to make use of the resources offered by the school including the Faulkner Library and pre-professional learning programs in business and medicine.

On weekends, students can take advantage of all that Philadelphia, the 5th largest city in the United States, has to offer; world class educational institutions and resources, diverse neighborhoods rich with history, and excellent cultural activities ranging from restaurants to concerts, museums to sports.
AFS International Admission Application
The application process for all International students is facilitated by one of our partnering agencies. All applicants must be interviewed and provide recent TOEFL or Duolingo scores. Applicant tours and student visits must be scheduled and hosted by a partnering agency.
