Win an i-Pad! Alumni Video Contest: Deadline Now Jan. 31!

Date: 11/02/2010

MediaLibrary#2672We're excited to announce a video contest for young alumni who are currently in school (undergrad or grad school).

We have extended the deadline to January 31!

We have fabulous prizes -- an iPad for the winner and an iPod Touch for the runner up -- and everyone who enters will receive an AFS t-shirt!

Here's what you have to do:

Make a short video answering the question, "How did AFS prepare you for college/grad school?"

We know you'll have lots of great answers to this question. Maybe you'll talk about your relationship with your teachers or the ways you were able to develop your writing or speaking skills. Perhaps what you appreciated most was the college counseling or time spent with your advisory. Or maybe being in a Quaker environment has helped you stay centered and reflective. These are just suggestions, feel free to be creative!

Check out these sample videos that were shot (using a Flip camera) during Homecoming. That's how easy it is!

Video Guidelines:

* 30-45 seconds long
* Use a high quality phone camera, flip camera etc.
* Wear something that represents your college/university (t-shirt, hat, etc.)
* Shoot on the campus of your college/grad school
* Good quality audio and lighting (something you'd want to watch on YouTube)
* Be creative and professional
* Include your name, graduating year and where you are attending college somewhere in the video
* Title your video prior to sending. ex: "AFS - _____________"
* Submit via YouTube to AFSVideoProject@abingtonfriends.net

The deadline for submissions is Monday, January 31.

When the competition is over, AFS will share the videos with the wider world in a variety of ways -- on the AFS website, at AFS open houses and many more venues.
