The ECCO Program at AFS: Exploring, Connecting, and Committing to Opportunities
ECCO is an innovative program aimed at connecting students in grades K through 12 with opportunities that will broaden their experience both within and beyond AFS. This might include an upper schooler pursuing a summer service program in the Fiji Islands, a seventh-grader participating in a national leadership summit on Columbia University’s campus or an 8-year-old joining her first travel soccer team. Opportunities abound and we are eager to connect more students with what can be truly transformative experiences.
Over the course of the coming year, we will begin to build portfolios of experiences in the arts, athletics, scholarship, travel and summer programs for students of all ages. We hope to tap into the power of the AFS community to collect and catalog these and other opportunities for our students. With that in mind, we’d love to hear:
-
what your children have been up to this summer
-
about programs or student experiences of any kind in which you or your children have participated
-
about any relationships and connections you may have or suggestions for particular avenues we might pursue
( for example, you may know the director of a program or have a work colleague who highly recommends a specific cultural exchange program).
