AFS provides support for a full range of charitable gift planning options and services. We strongly urge prospective donors to consult with their attorney, financial advisor, estate planning professional, accountant or other appropriate professional when making decisions about estate planning.
Cash, Check and Credit Card
The School accepts gifts made by check, cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). Gifts can be made using
our secure online donation form, by mailing or dropping off a check to the Development Office.
Securities and No-load Mutual funds
A bequest to AFS is a gift that can truly be made by almost everybody. It involves no immediate loss of capital or income, and tax benefits minimize the ultimate cost to one’s heirs.
You may be able to designate AFS as a beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement plan. This can help to reduce income and estate taxes.
You can make an outright gift of your residence or other real estate to the school and qualify for a charitable deduction. A gift in this form enables you to avoid a capital gains tax on the appreciation of the property, just as with gifts of appreciated securities.
If you have a life insurance policy which you no longer rely on, consider putting the money to work for AFS.
Payroll Deduction through United Way
Abington Friends Preschool and After School Programs are eligible for Donor Choice/Specific Care Programs with United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. When designating a contribution through employer provided United Way payroll options, please use the identification number 4566 to direct your contribution to these programs at AFS. If you give through United Way, we strongly advise you to inform us of your gift so we can ensure its delivery to AFS. If you have any questions concerning donation procedures, please contact Jon Harris
Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Visit our matching gift page
to find out if your company has a matching gift policy.
