The Extended Day Program at Abington Friends School takes place after school and yet is an extension of the experience we cultivate daily within our Lower School. Through Extended Day/Enrichment Program, students are encouraged to try new experiences, take on new challenges and discover new interests.
The Extended Day Program is structured in two age groupings: Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten and First-Fifth Grade Levels. We have now added a Homework Center to the grade level portion of the Extended Day Program. Through the Homework Center, students are provided with a quiet comfortable space to complete their homework with adult supervision. Parents/guardians may elect to have their child participate in the Homework Center when completing registration.
Our Enrichment Program also offers children the opportunity to further explore lessons in dance, instrumental strings instruction, choral instruction, drama and visual art work. Through further enrichment offerings, children can also make discoveries through sports, technology and the game of chess. Even if your child does not choose to participate in any of these exciting enrichment offerings, all students, grades 1 through 5 may participate in a daily arts & crafts class.
