Abington Friends School is committed to using technology in all areas of the curriculum to transform the way faculty teach and students learn.
Students and faculty use technology to enhance the skills and activities in the curriculum. This includes research, math skills and games, MIDI lab for composing music, computer graphics, computer programming, web authoring, database design and use, tutorials, presentation media and an evolving library of software and ideas to enrich the curriculum.
Research and analytical skills are supported by the use of the online library catalogue, databases, indices and the World Wide Web. The school network reaches every classroom and reaches out to the world through the Internet. Four computer labs are available for class and individual use, with extended hours before and after school in the labs.
Ethical use of information and the ability to make judgments, evaluate sources, acknowledge where information has been obtained through the use of citations are some of the considerations that are part of the every-day use of electronic resources here from Lower to Upper School.
