For those of you who are avid readers, it is possible to earn the recognition of “Distinguished Summer Reader.”  This is noted on your transcript along with athletics, distinguished community service, and other school-related activities. 

• To earn this placement, you must read at least 2500 pages during the summer months and write half-page to one page reviews for each of the books that you read. 
• You may include any books that are required as part of the 2500 pages for Distinguished Summer Reading.
• Please do not summarize the plot.  Use this as an opportunity to give your opinion of the book, a critique of its value and the ideas contained therein. 
• If you have any questions or special requests, please contact the librarian.
• The reviews must be turned in to the librarian by the end of the first full week of school.
