community ties
For more than 300 years AFS has occupied this same ground in Jenkintown. We are proud to be a part of this community.

Abington Friends School is located in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, on a beautiful 50-acre campus that includes a creek, a Quaker Meetinghouse, a meadow and several expansive playing fields.

We are blessed by the beauty of our surroundings and yet we are part of a broader community also, one that enriches our life as a school and offers myriad experiences to our students. In the Early Childhood Division, children are escorted on trips to the local Acme or post office to broaden their horizons and teach them about community. In Lower School, the borough of Jenkintown becomes a valuable resource as students learn about architecture and compare real life examples to what they have learned in class. Nearby Alverthorpe Park and Abington Art Center are visited frequently by Middle and Upper School classes seeking a tranquil spot to write a poem or sketch from nature.

As part of the community, we are involved in the life of the neighborhood, be it through community service or sitting on the Abington Community Taskforce.

We are proud to draw students from 75 different zipcodes, and we are proud also to call our home Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.
